StrongStarter manufactures a wide range of spring-driven mechanical starters that can
reliably start diesel engines from >2L to over 14L (up to 500HP with turbocharger) in
capacity. Trials have shown that we can now start engines as large as 18 Litres. This
makes our starters directly comparable to large Pneumatic and Hydraulic starters, at a
fraction of the cost.
Our starters are completely mechanical in operation. They are flame-resistant, water-
resistant and totally non-electric, making them the ideal starting solution in hazardous
areas such as coal mines and oil rigs, where a single spark could mean disaster. Our
starters require no batteries or electric system support, no air compressors or similar
accessories and are a bolt-on replacement of electric starters. Our starters are virtually
maintenance-free and provide a fail-safe as either the primary or emergency starting
solution, especially for remote or harsh terrains.
StrongStarter spring starters have been used successfully with a variety of engines and
applications. While our starters have been tested and used with well-known diesel engine
manufacturers like Caterpillar and John Deere, we support over 200 different engine
manufacturer and model combinations from small and large engine manufacturers. Each
StrongStarter spring starter is basically fitted with an installation adapter that is custom-
designed to fit a particular engine and application. This results in hassle-free installation
and operation - many customers have reported replacing their electric starters in one
hour or less!
